Landing at Trafalgar Square

Just returned from a trip to deepest Norfolk, a beautiful village by the name of Burnham Thorpe.  It turns out this is where Horatio Nelson was born and the pub where he used to go drinking is still there.  It has been called The Lord Nelson since 1798 and it was previously known as The Plough since 1637.

As we walked from the airfield to the pub there was a village green with play equipment and a column made by a wood sculptor which has been carved out of a dead tree.  It’s not made of concrete like Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square or quite as tall but still an impressive thing to see especially in his home village.

The pub serves good food, in particular, the Sunday roasts come highly recommended which was clearly evidenced as we all managed to leave empty plates.  Those heavy meals conveniently added some extra ballast to the P&M GTR front seat because I decided to try my luck in the back seat while my wife was a little under the minimum 50kg required in the front.  Was a pleasant flight home for just over an hour not doing much at all.  I can see how the instructors can get used to being flown around everywhere 😉 .
