DESCRIPTION:  \nJuly 1st – 31st YES – NATIONAL YOUNG AVIATORS MONTH- Fly as many as you can!             \nYES  -LAA Youth Education Support –invites all Struts\, Flying Schools & Clubs\, Groups and Airfields to join us for a concerted effort in the month of July 2024 to fly as many young people as we can\, the TARGET is 2024. Each organisation then registers the numbers flown with YES. Remember the TARGET is to fly 2024 youngsters making July 2024 the Big One \nMembership to YES is actually free and we as a national group endeavour to point youngsters in an aeronautical direction whether they wish to fly an aircraft\, become an engineer or to be a part of the numerous support roles to keep aircraft in the air. \nYES works with industry\, airlines and teams up with LAA Struts (Clubs)\,Youth Organisations\, Airfields and Charities using our member’s aeronautical skills and knowledge to bring about life changing opportunities. To be found under the canopy of YES are regional charities and groups that have been beavering away for some years and making a difference in their own areas of operation. Examples are the Cornwall based charity FOG -Feet Off the Ground and The Joystick Club from White Waltham. SUMMARY:Garden Tour - Gorhambury
DESCRIPTION:https://www.gorhamburyestate.co.uk/What-s-On\nGorhambury House\nGorhambury Garden Tour with Head Gardener \nWe offer a chance for an in depth look around the gardens at Gorhambury House taken by our Head Gardener Gill Hewis. \nThe gardens comprise many areas and styles from formal to wildflower meadow\, Herbaceous borders to cut flower and vegetable garden. There are some historic features and topiary alongside modern planting schemes by Tom Stuart Smith. \nYou will start with refreshments and an introduction to the history of the estate\, the current mansion and garden. Then a leisurely guided tour around the gardens where you can ask questions and find out about the specimen plants\, stories and anecdotes. \nAs part of the Tom Stuart-Smith designs\, Spring 2024 will be the first time the 30\,000 plus bulbs that have been planted in the autumn of 2023 will be on display. We are hosting just 2 spring bulb events in 2024 on the following dates: \n25th April – Spring Bulb and Rhododendron special event. \n1st May – Spring Bulb and Rhododendron special event. \nIn May and June there are some wonderful rhododendrons\, camellias\, flowering shrubs and trees as well as formal lawns\, wildflower meadows and historic topiary. In July the herbaceous boarders look wonderful and the garden is popular with lots of butterflies. Our final event in 2024 will be in September when the garden is abundant with fruits\, seeds and autumn leaves. \n11th June \n18th June \n30th July \n19th September \nThe tour will last about 1.5 -2 hours and will go ahead in nearly all weathers. Please dress accordingly. \nThere are toilet facilities available and a number of steps to be navigated. \nEach head gardener tour is for a maximum of 15 people.
